Right now I’d guess about 20 are full of stuff and being used, about 10-15 are nested in storage, the rest, some have broken and I tossed them, some I’ve given away to people.
I should also add we tend to use red and green for christmas and their are other colors so that can help.
last time I moved I bought a bunch of suitcases on wheels from the op shop (goodwill type shop) worked a treat and they went back when I was finished with then
I always got empty boxes from Kinko’s or other similar copy shops. It’s harder to get them from Fedex now because they flatten and toss them immediately. They are a good size, and uniform.
Hint: Get extra lids. Put one lid on the bottom of the box for extra strength.
You are buying the wrong tubs. Decent tubs taper slightly so you can stack 10 or 20 in almost the same space as 1 (only the height will increase).

My paranoia about insects also leads me to using tubs, much less of a chance of roaches hitching a ride on tubs than there is with boxes.
