Anybody else think that Agent Orange is behind this? He probably can’t look at that simpering face (welcome to the club, Donnie) without getting in a rage about the “I despise him” text. ---

I assume that the posters here are joking about the POS known as Tucker Carlson having any kind of _substantial_ political career. Sure, he could probably win a congressional seat with his name recognition and MAGA bona fides, maybe even make it to the Senate if he carpetbags in the right state, but I don’t think anything executive of substance, much less the presidency. The reason is simple: he’s the beta bitch mouthpiece of the fascist corporatocracy. He’s a Goebbels, not a Hitler. The platform he was given was vastly disproportionate in value to his talent level. I think he will now more or less disappear. Preferably more. ---

Fascinating news, and I’ll look forward to his pronouncements and what he says (and more importantly, what he doesn’t say) in the near future. As for future jobs, I wonder if any of the other three ‘big channels’ (NBC, CBS, ABC) would take a flyer on him; after all, he brings big numbers and big news (controversy) with him. And just to mess with your minds, say “Here’s Ticker Carlson on CNN”… ---

Given that Megyn Kelly was briefly (and unsuccessfully) employed by NBC News, which paid her a lot of money, and then parted ways with her after about a year, I’d say “once bitten, twice shy,” perhaps. ---

Chairman Rupert Murdoch._ _Carlson’s exit is related to the [discrimination lawsuit filed by Abby Grossberg](https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/business/story/2023-03-27/fired-fox-news-producer-said-she-was-coached-by-network-lawyers-on-defamation-case-testimony), the producer fired by the network last month, the people said._ _Murdoch is also said to be concerned over Carlson’s coverage of the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, in which the host has promoted the conspiracy theory that it was provoked by government agents._ (snip) _However, some of the comments that Carlson had made about management in communications that turned up in the discovery process for the case may have also played a role in Carlson’s demise._ ---

Kellyanne Conway, reportedly, was in constant contact with CNN - pumping them full of direct oval office info about all the scandalous things that the White House was doing - for the term of the Trump presidency. Fox isn’t the only company that is, ultimately, trying to pump up ratings. CNN is better but, in general, there isn’t any good TV news. You need to read - the Financial Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, The Economist, Volokh Conspiracy, Lawfare Blog, etc. - to get something more like reasonable news from reasonable people. ---

And Trump and DeSantis are policy masterminds?! With the political environment as it is, Tucker would definitely be a threat. Smarter than Trump, more human than DeSantis and just as bigoted and hate-filled as both. And arguably as popular among the MAGA crowd as Trump. ---

I don’t see how liability insurance for anything like the Dominion liability is feasible at all for Fox. Any insurer would exclude liability consequent to the deliberate intentional lying that is necessary to create such a liability. In other words, there’s very little of the random component for which insurance makes sense as a transaction. It’s entirely under Fox’s control. You can’t get insurance that covers deliberately burning your house down. Liability risk may be a factor, but I think it’s not going to be based on a third party insurer’s input, just on Fox’s own assessment of economic benefit vs economic risk with Carlson’s inevitable future lying. ---
