# Tuduckinoostrich for Thanksgiving!

Last year I cooked a [penguin](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=396710) for the Smith family (we found it to be stringy, salty and slightly fishy), so this year I’m going to cook a tuduckinoostrich. Yes, that’s right, tuduckinoostrich. A duck stuffed in a chicken stuffed in a turkey stuffed in a goose stuffed in an ostrich.
Can anyone tell me where I can buy a deep fryer that’ll hold approximately 100 gallons of oil (and one tuduckinoostrich)?

I was going to suggest a 55 gallon drum would probably be your best bet - then I saw you said you were looking for something that would hold 100 gallons of oil - plus the turduckinoostrich. I suspect you’re going to be looking at getting something custom adapted.
How much does this turduckinoostrich weigh?
Just doing some thinking about what you’ll want/need - one idea might be to see if you can track down a milk truck that’s been junked, and see if you can purchase the end of it. That would have the advantage of already being valved, and being food service quality, too. And might well be cheaper than getting something custom made from scratch. OTOH, that might well be larger than you need or want. It’s just that thinking of common vessels that have the size you’ll need and the materials (decent grade stainless, I’d think you’d prefer) I can’t think of anything else that’s going to be likely to be easily adapted to your needs. (55 gallon drums are about as large as I know that anyone makes for transport of fluids, simply because they’re so bloody heavy when filled.) And as expensive and difficult as salvaging the milk truck vessel might be, I suspect it’s still going to be cheaper than getting something custom made.
