Obviously you wouldn’t want to do this with human cells but wouldn’t lab grown beef, pork, or chicken have to be engineered for unlimited growth? Wouldn’t these cells then be similar to cancer? ---

Stem cells do not have the limted amount of dividing that ordinary cells do. Although I’m not sure they have truly unlimited division. But they don’t need that to make a burger. ---
