I second this - especially the part about this being the most horrible decision ever. (The only possible ‘out’ I can see is to shift the blame for the results of your (in)actions to God.)
…er, presuming that this person isn’t completely hallucinating the entire thing, that is. Had any implanting gone on? If it was in the articles I missed it.
If, as most pro-lifers believe, each fetus is an individual life, then it would be hard to stomach killing most to save a few. Like the sinking boat analogy above. Or a choice to kill one person and use his organs to save 5.
Full disclosure – I’ve gone through fertility treatments, and had discussions over possible multiples and selective reduction. Mr Boozilu and I decided to implant only two embryos and to reject considering selective reduction even if recommended by our OBGYN.
