Just called LaZBoy for the gazillionth or so time since our purchase in September. The two recliners that we were told would come by the end of the year, then by mid-November, then by mid-January are now, maybe coming next month. Maybe. Oh, by the way, we already paid for them. And they can’t even be bothered to let us know when there are delays. We spent over $7K for all new living room furniture, the sofa already needs repair (scheduled on Jan 20) and who knows when we’ll actually see the chairs. Not happy. Not happy at all. ---

I had a flash of near Mom-like efficiency, and hopefully I found somewhere to live, so I can stop worrying about my cardboard box decorating skills for a while. I also sent the rest of the pre-employment forms for this job and talked to the doctor- seems I have low iron, as I suspected. Now I just need to figure out how to squeeze my entire flat into a) one small car and b) one room. I’ll be hiding some in the garage of my former place, but I still need to get rid of some furniture, with all the usual donation places closed. ---

If there is a church nearby, a call to the pastor to say “I have some decent furniture that needs a home if you know of a family that needs some”. This has also worked for me. ---

How does one tissue left in a pocket turn into 30 tissues in the wash? I swear if you put all the shreds together, there’d be enough for an entire pre-school class with the sniffles. I took some items to the balcony to shake them. It’s raining, of course, so they got wetter and took longer to dry. And the kicker is, when I took clothes out of the dryer, I found an intact tissue–no wrinkles or fold lines. The physics of laundry is a strange and puzzling thing. It’s dark and gloomy and pouring rain, so I’m not feeling too enthused about walking. I’ll try to steel myself for it. I may have to start washing myself with vinegar to retard mildew. I’m going to clean out the fridge next, though. I tell ya, it’s wild times here on the west side. 🙂 I started watching _Bridgerton_ because so many friends recommended it–a friend said it’s just like Jane Austen–but I quit. I like Austen. This didn’t seem like Austen to me, and I got bored. Also, historical movies that use modern music scores break that fourth wall for me. **Boo** , did you ever progress to the real (non-holiday) _Great British Baking Show_? **Moooom** , I bet Higgs loved the serenade. Everyday’s a birthday when someone is glad you were born. 🙂 Sounds like your recliners are touring the country. I seem to recall going to a Monster Truck Show in The Silver Bowl in Vegas for my 21st. This was a long time before the kind of stuff they are doing now. I’m trying so hard to not over-think this “date” tonight. Which makes me anxious, about the fact that I’m anxious. Ack! It helps that when we talked earlier today, he sounded SO nervous and excited, though he (mostly) hid it well. I found it charming (mostly - at one point I think even he could hear my eyes rolling) and do not at all mind _not_ being the most anxious one, for a change. For now. Shit. I should probably, like, take a shower and stuff. Oh, crap. What do I wear? Wait. I have one (one!) flattering cute/sexy top that’s clean. I should probably obtain more. Okay. I have two “fancy” bras on standby (what, am I gonna wear them to work? No!) so that’s handled. One of my fancy, pretty new nails came unglued so that’s gotta be fixed soon-ish. I have … looks at clock … oh WTF I have an hour and a half left. Less, really. You guys! I have the first-date jitters!! ---

I’m sitting here waiting for the dilation drops to wear off so I can run to the store. I don’t want to go to the store, but I have a list. I also need to make some soap. People are asking for it. . Diner tonight will be street tacos and leftover pork chili. We made the chili last night out of some of the leftover pulled pork. 🙂 That’s my report for today. ---

I get the RoxStar again tomorrow - her Papa will be going to work. He takes every hour they’ll give him. But as far as we know, tomorrow will be it for a while. Unless something changes. We shall see. They finally got around to transferring the title from **FCD** ’s old car to themselves. Glad to have it off our insurance. At least I think it’s off our insurance. The Geico site was acting strange. Supper was good, and it’s time to walk a bit before chillage sets in. And the dreary day winds down. ---

**shoe** , I remember how nervous I was before my first date post-divorce. A friend recommended a medicinal shot of whiskey, but I was driving and besides, I didn’t want to smell like booze. The date was OK, but the guy was kind of a phony who ended conversations with “namaste.” strong text Hope yours goes well and that you have a wonderful time! **Boo** , I just finished binge-watching one season of The GBBS for the second time. I’m now on The Bob Newhart Show on Netflix. I loved the show when it was on but didn’t see many episodes because it aired on Saturday nights, and I was usually out on dates. I remember one time waiting for a date and wishing I could stay home and watch TV with my parents. That Saturday night line-up was amazing.
