Yeah, seeing how my software can’t split record tracks, I wonder if the integrated systems try to split tracks, or if they just record the record as a whole.
Keep in mind that by some estimates (and in 2009, some practical, real life data), the average shelf life of a CD-R is right around 10 years. Hard drives can also be finicky.
Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: Whatever you do with your archive, be sure to back up the most important stuff on multiple formats.
