TV Alert of NY-Area Dopers

Tonight on channel 13, I’m going to be on an independent film at 10:00. Or rather, my voice is—I did a voice-over for an indie filmmaker friend of mine, as the Mean Boss of a 1950s maid. I actually can’t remember the name of the film, but it’s the one about the black girl looking back at her family tree . . .

–Mean Boss-Lady

Yea! Since it’s not cable, I can watch it. But since it’s Friday night, I won’t be home. I would tape it, but I have no VCR.

Eve, can you call them and tell them to rebroadcast it at a more convenient time?

Eve your so famous, in a sort of offhand way.

I got the MovieLine and my daughter was reading it. I told her I “knew” one of the columnists. Says my daughter, “One of your Strange Dope friends? She’s almost somebody!”

Wait till she finds out your voice will be on PBS!

Eve,

Any photo you’d care to share ??

Will there be spanking involved? “FiFi, did YOU break this vase?”

I’m settin’ my VCR.

Wow! “Famous in an offhand way” and “almost somebody!” The cockles of my heart stand warmed.

Well, I found a link, but all it told me is the film is “Tree Shade” dir. by Lisa Collins. Tonight at 10:00. I taped the v/o so long ago all I remember is that my maid’s name is Olive and she is NOT a very good one. I think my little son Stephen comes to a Bad End, but I’m not even sure about that. It’s all very Serious and Socially Significant.

Enjoy!

I’m just chunking this baby back up to the top for the benefit of all the New Yorkers who slept in this afternoon after an exhausting Thursday night of potent cocktails, fine dining, wild dancing, unnatural sex, and cocaine. (It IS true what they say about us.)

Don’t mention it, Evie.

This was about to slip off the page. I almost missed it.
Wow, Eve, that’s great! I’ll be home tonight, so I’ll get to see, I mean hear, you!

Wow thanks Ike. Glad to know there’s someone looking out for us.

Oh and Eve, I’m sorry to say that I probably wont be home tonight at that time, but I might, and if I am I’ll be sure to check it out, and if it doesn’t suck I’ll even comment on it Mon.

::clap, clap, clap:: Bravo! Now I can say I know someone that was on TV on a real TV station.

You’re in the credits. You’re somebody, Eve!

BTW, in all seriousness, you have a beautiful voice. They couldn’t have picked anyone better for that part.
