The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis Usually opened with Dobie (Dwayne Hickman) alongside a sculpture of Robin’s _The Thinker_ and mimicking the pose, then addressing the viewer directly _(and closed in a similar manner with his summing up the episode and then resuming the pose)_ – and I also seem to recall several times during the show where he provided asides to the audience in the course of the action. _ **-“BB”-** _ ---

(Crocker Bank) I’m not sure this was ever a national commercial, but wherever it aired in 1970, Richard Carpenter happened to see it, and called to find out if the was a song-length version of the jingle. ---
