New Girl - When Zooey Deschanel took time off for maternity leave, they put Jess, her character, on jury duty and sequestered the jury. This got the character away from her friends for a limited time, but I felt it was a waste. If that character was going to serve on a jury, then by golly I wanted to see what she was going to do on a jury. ---

Happy Days – After seven seasons, Ron Howard wanted to devote more time to his directorial career and wanted off the show.
