It was a half-hour special, not a series – but it was on TV so I think it counts.
And the fact that they were able to do an entire album of music from a half-hour special is testimony to the quality of the music used in it.

I have It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown on CD. I purchased it 30 years ago solely for the “Linus & Lucy” song. A few years later I picked up the Vince Guaraldi Trio album at a thrift store for $2. It’s scratchy but I like it better than the CD.
