Then I’ll watch the World Series game and be able to fast-forward through commercials and pitching changes.
Oops! Turns out Frasier isn’t on tonight because of Halloween programming – so let me make a correction to my original entry…

I’ve watched that 10-episode series on Netflix every Halloween since it debuted in 2018.
Never seen the show, but OMG, I read the book, and it scared the CRAP out of me! better than Ex-Lax. Took me two weeks of reading L. Frank Baum’s Oz books, collections of Peanuts cartoons, and my old Beverly Cleary books, which thank goodness I still had, to get over it.
The book and the show have very little to do with each other, though both are excellent in their different ways.

Actually, I didn’t watch anything, but my daughter saw it, and it was in the background.
I’ve never been a fan of reboots or re-writes but Flanagan did a remarkable job building upon Shirley Jackson’s novel, incorporating famous horror authors into his family tale of terror. It avoids the awful jump-scares and buckets of gore so many auteurs employ, making for a slow burn that is deliciously addictive (for me). Fall of the House of Usher employs a similar tactic with a melange of Poe’s work that was enjoyable.
Still in play:

Hadn’t seen it before, and really liked it. Clever, beautiful, creepy, heartwarming and scary in all the right ways.
OK.
Halloween is well past.
Unless someone wants to post what they might watch tonight, taking advantage of the extra hour, then as the originator, I’m declaring this category done at 9 items.
I guess that makes Elendil_s_Heir up next.
As you wish.
