TV Binge Watch (Part 2)

Some may know that the first season of what is now known as “Saturday Night Live” was actually titled “NBC’s Saturday Night.” Lorne Michaels always wanted to call his show “Saturday Night Live,” but couldn’t because the above-mentioned show had premiered just 3 weeks earlier. Michaels changed the name after Cosell’s version bit the dust.

And coincidentally, Bill Murray was a regular on “Saturday Night Live with Howard Cosell” before joining the other SNL in its second year.

Carry on.

Abject failures

  1. Pink Lady (and Jeff) - cancelled after five shows
  2. Lawless - canceled after one episode
  3. You’re in the Picture
  4. Manimal
  5. Heil Honey I’m Home!
  6. The Chevy Chase Show
  7. Kingpin
  8. Saturday Night Live with Howard Cosell
  9. The Magic Hour

Like Chevy Chase, Magic Johnson tried his hand at hosting a talk show, with similar results.

  10. Cop Rock
First time I saw an ad for it, I thought it was an SNL sketch.
