with a handle like ‘Bicycle Bill’, you know I’d go for the one about cops on mountain bikes.

All but the 2nd season took place in remote places where most of the violence occured before the investigators arrived.

  6. Harry O

Harry Orwell (David Janssen) was a detective who was often called in after the violence had been committed. If he had to look at a crime scene, it was typically after the body (bodies) had been taken away, all he had to work with were chalk outlines, and he had to use logic to put everything together.

It was a nice “cozy” show. Unlike other TV detectives, Harry did not have a flashy car; in fact, his car never worked (though he often tried to get it to work), so he often went to crime scenes on the bus. His neighbour was Farrah Fawcett (before “Charlie’s Angels”), and they had plenty of back-and-forth about the car that didn’t work. The case Harry was working on was the focus of the episode, of course, but it was the side problems that Harry had that made the show.

Hell, it was from Harry O that I learned that a gentleman need not cinch his tie up until it strangles him. A little bit of looseness is OK.
