Worst character on the island.

Shows (not canceled mid-stream) that had disappointing endings

  1. Lost

Spent 6 seasons building an elaborate series of mysteries almost none of which were resolved.

Shows (not canceled mid-stream) that had disappointing endings

  1. Lost
  2. Battlestar Galactica (the 2004 reboot)

The story meandered in the final season, and became increasingly metaphysical; even if “the Cyclons have a plan,” it was clear that the showrunners didn’t.

Shows (not canceled mid-stream) that had disappointing endings

  1. Lost
  2. Battlestar Galactica (the 2004 reboot)
  3. My Name Is Earl

It wasn’t cancelled mid-season, but at the end of the season, the last episode of which was a cliffhanger. Grrrrrr. Great show otherwise.

  1. Lost
  2. Battlestar Galactica (the 2004 reboot)
  3. My Name Is Earl
  4. How I Met Your Mother

An almost universally despised final season and final episode.

  3. My Name Is Earl

  3. My Name Is Earl
  4. How I Met Your Mother
  5. Dinosaurs
  6. Quantum Leap
  7. Cagney & Lacey
The 2-hr finale was supposed to suggest they were going on to better positions in the police force and life in general, while leaving an open window for a reunion movie (which were popular in the 80s). It was complicated, confusing, and the major guest actor just wasn’t very good. It really wasn’t very interesting, or original, and a bad send-up for a ground-breaking show.

  4. How I Met Your Mother
  5. Dinosaurs
  6. Quantum Leap
  7. Cagney & Lacey
  8. Star Trek

The final episode, “Turnabout Intruder,” wasn’t all that good, and there was no sense of closure to the series.

  9. Seinfeld
  10. Star Trek: Enterprise

They killed off a major character, had two TNG actors with no link to the series whatsoever make a guest appearance, and didn’t show any of Capt. Archer’s big, historic speech that helped lead to the founding of the Federation. Bleccccccch.
