Side plots of the week
- CHiPs - In “Roller Disco Part 1,” Ponch is on the committee for the annual Skate with the Stars charity.
- Star Trek: The Next Generation - “Force of Nature,” Data tries to train his pet cat Spot.
- The Big Bang Theory - “The Werewolf Transformation”, Sheldon learns to play the bongos, to the chagrin of all.
- Emergency! - “Hang-Up,” in which paramedic Johnny Gage spends time, in between emergency calls, trying to learn what happened at the end of an episode of Adam-12, which he missed while responding to a call. (It’s a meta-plot, as Adam-12 was a sister show to Emergency!, created by the same production company.)
- Seinfeld - “The Red Dot” in which George has sex with the cleaning lady on his desk at work, and feigns ignorance about the impropriety of his actions.
- Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - “In the Cards” - Kai Winn meets with Weyoun about Bajoran signing a non-aggression pact with the Dominion.
The A-plot was Jake and Nog running all over the place trying to earn a baseball card for Captain Sisko.
Bajor is the planet; Bajoran is the race.

Being a regular cast member. I could have mentioned tons of others (James Galway and Cloris Leachman come to mind immediately), however these would fall in the category of “variety show guests”.
