Going back a bit … under "Character Who Could Not Be Seen"

The fact that she was a genie was what had to be hidden from EVERYBODY (except Major Healey, and I’m not sure how he became privy to the secret); and of course her existence had to be concealed from some people due to the questions that would have arisen. But she could be seen – and often WAS, and these discoveries and subsequent ludicrous cover-ups drove several of the episodes of the series.
