B.J. on M_A_S\*H. It was never revealefd what that stands for. Yes, he said he’s named after his parents Bea and Jay, but he’s obviously joking. ---

On **Golden Girls** , Blanche’s middle name was “Elizabeth”, I think. So her name, Blanche Elizabeth Devereaux, spelled “BED”. 😃 ---

Fred Glenn Sanford was the name of Redd Foxx’s real-life father and, more importantly, of Redd’s older brother Fred Glenn Sanford, Jr… (Redd’s name at birth was John Elroy Sanford.) The brother died young (in a gang fight as memory serves) and naming the character for him was Redd’s tribute. (The father abandoned the family when Redd was a baby, though he later presented himself after Redd was famous expecting [erroneously] to be supported by him.) ---
