TV closing themes with sung lyrics

The Merry Marvel Marching Society!

Interesting! That’s the opposite from how most shows do it.

For Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, the theme song was “Suspension”, sung by Kip Lennon.

In the pilot (which was released as a theatrical film), the song was played for the opening credits.. (I love that song, but I wish they had gotten a baritone voice to sing it.)

The regular series, however,
opened with an instrumental version,
and closed with a truncated version of the sung version.

That was stitched together, right? No way ALL those people guested in one episode

Charles in Charge

Should HAPPY DAYS count?

Oh yea that’s like ten episodes at least.

I feel watching that is like the music collage in “The Contest Nobody Could Win”. See if you can identify the episodes just from the guest cast! (no using IMDB)

Not only that, each episode had lyrics tailored to that particular story.

Sharpe

Extras used Cat Stevens’ “Tea for the Tillerman” as its closing theme.

Blackadder (the first) also had lyrics with the final credits, but the same for all episodes except the last.

Second verse starts

Black! His gloves of finest mole!
Black! His codpiece made of metal!
