Typing “commercial ads 1980s” into Google gave me [this](http://www.x-entertainment.com/downloads/). It looks pretty entertaining to me, anyway.

I couldn’t immediately find anything for the 1990s…

Don’t know how far back it goes, but I came across the [AdLand](http://ad-rag.com/) website not too long ago looking for a particular IBM commercial. There’s a subscription fee, but it might be worth it.

If you’re near New York of L.A., there’s a wealth of material at the Museum of Television and Radio. Plus, the one in New York is next door to 21, so you can grab a $30 hamburger for lunch.
