An obscure television show from the 1959-1960 season, **Mr. Lucky** , was blessed with one of Henry Mancini’s best themes. It’s been tied in the number one position for forty-nine years now. (Mancini also counted **Peter Gunn** and **The Pink Panther** among his successes.) The ring tone on my phone are the five notes from the theme that came from Mr. Lucky’s pocket watch. How’s that for devotion? (The television show was based on the Cary Grant movie from several years earlier.) ---
