TV Shows Only You Remember

In that one, World War One is the obvious winner. How can you watch Combat! before you watch World War One?

I was nine at the time and could only watch one of the two. I’ve more than made up for it since.

When I was little, I wanted a Jeep like that. (Specifically, the CJ-6s they used.)

Remember Fernwood 2-Night and America 2-Night with Martin Mull and Fred Willard? I don’t think any of Willard’s lines were scripted. His genius was recognizable even back then. And Mull’s expressions when watching performances were priceless.

I loved “The Champions”. I don’t know if “clueless boss” is a TV trope but it should be one. BTW Stuart Damon passed away recently. RIP. (It is a TV trope. Cited examples were Henry Blake and Arthur Carlson.)

i remember that was actually rerun on Nick at nite back in the late 80s when they were in the “golden age” era but it was the one lasts show before the 1 am repeats so I don’t think it was popular … i think the other was the ann southern show where she worked in a big city hotel …

I always wanted a jeep like this. Still do!

Yes. And one more character.

When you say The Ann Sothern Show, do you mean this one?

I remember it being on a local MPS/SP station around 04:00 back in the '80s, right after I broke up with a girl named Susan. One of the best things that ever happened to me!

The Ascent of Man was a short series with Jacob Bronowski as the narrator. During the program he presented his view of the world…scientist, musician, mathematician and philosopher all in one package. In my view one of the greatest minds of the modern age. But I don’t know anyone else who remembers the show.

Run, Buddy, Run war mentioned up-thread–and I googled to make sure that the poster didn’t mean Run, Joe, Run.

Oh, I remember it! It was the first documentary series I watched on PBS back in the '70s. It was on Sunday nights, and followed by Monty Python’s Flying Circus.

I mentioned it recently in another thread.

Ha, that reminds me of the Gale Storm Show where she plays a cruise director decades before Love Boat. Before this she was in My Little Margie where she had a very close relationship to her father, which I found a bit ooky even at 8 years old.

I remember watching My Little Margie when I was three or four years old. I was fascinated by how the portraits came to life at the beginning of the show.

I also spent time trying to figure out how they did the ghost effects on Topper.

As I recall, these were on more or less together with Love That Bob and The People’s Choice. I thought Cleo (the talking basset hound) was hilariously funny but had mixed feelings about Schultzy (Ann B Davis).

I used to go home from school for lunch and this was on as filler at 12:30 in the UK. I watched it as the 9year old me had a weird crush on Eileen Brennan after seeing Private Benjamin.
I didn’t realize that Rob Lowe was one of the kids. It lasted one season and the IMDB trivia claims it came last in the ratings.

pretty much a proto Kate and ally eh ?

They made some new episodes of Danger Mouse from 2015-2019, with Alexander Armstrong doing the voice. They’re a little too polished to have the charm of the original series, but some of the new material is pretty good.

One of DM’s new villains is a scientist monkey called Isambard King Kong Brunel. Makes me laugh every time.

I did exactly the same thing.

Without googling, who knows what show had the catchphrase “Grits and greens strike again.”?

Flo?
