Anything with Gordan Ramsey, other than the UK version of “Kitchen Nightmares” The Simpsons CSI, especially CSI Miami The Trump or Martha Stewart The Apprentice. I saw one series of the UK version which wasn’t too bad & I’m quite enjoying the NZ version. I used to enjoy Survivor but I’m sick of it now. Same goes for any off the knock off versions. I used to enjoy Two & a half Men, but it should have finished a couple of series ago. Everybody Loves Raymond. Coronation St Other than a NZ “comedy” Melody Rules, the most unfunny show I’ve ever see was a UK one called something like “A half pint of lager & a packet of crisps.” I’m sure theres more, but these are the ones that first came to mind. ---

I despise many of the current crop of sitcoms, including SDMB favorites like The Big Bang Theory. It’s just not funny, and I really don’t understand why people think it’s funny (not judging, I seriously don’t get it!) I also hate Two and a Half Men. Most of all, I hate the fact that there are SO MANY cop shows and medical dramas on. Can we try a little diversity? Just a bit? ---

I don’t watch anything with any regularity. I’m serious. From time to time I flip around and settle on either a sporting event, news, a documentary, a quirky British show, or a quirky Canadian show like Corner gas. Most of the time my wife and kids put something on and I read or do other stuff. I find the vast majority of shows to be vapid. I don’t make a distinction between shows and commercials because they are one and the same. Shows wouldn’t exist unless they could sell tampons, beer, cars and laundry detergent. I’m not a snob, but TV really, really, really is terrible. I’ve had friends convince me that certain shows are really funny. I try to watch them and find absolutely zero entertainment. I like to think I’m intelligent and have a good sense of humour, but TV is fucking bad. Monty Python = good. Police Squad = good. 60 Minutes = good. News = good. Documentary = good. The rest = shit. ---

I absolutely detest _The Apprentice_. This was an interesting and innovative show in the first couple of seasons, but this whole celebrity nonsense with scum like Blago is just shameful. ---

I tried really hard to like **Heroes** , because it was so popular and everyone was talking about it. I generally like most TV shows, even the vapid ones (I totally watched _Jersey Shore_!), but _Heroes_ was just too silly for me. Now, if there was a Hiro show, I’d watch that 🙂 ---

It got way too convoluted way too fast and I just didn’t care what happened to the characters. ---

I gave it multiple chances but it just never, ever got even onto the same continent as funny. ---

I can’t stand the over-the-top announcers voice and sound clips. I even hate the way they interject bikini-clad women for no reason, and I normally like that. It takes 15 minutes to answer something that could have been answered in 15 seconds. I’m a big fan of _ **How I Met Your Mother** _, but it has run out of steam lately. I could see how a newcomer wouldn’t find it funny. They really need to just wrap it up. ETA: Same with _ **Heroes** _. It has really dropped off. The first season and parts of the 2nd were brilliant (IMHO). Now I watch it out of habit. ---

I was hoping to like it, but watching \*\*V \*\*tonight was a painful, painful experience. _Everything_ was awful - the writing, acting, the CGI “sets,” the lighting, the costumes. At every commercial break I asked my boyfriend if it was over yet, because EVERY act ended with a corny “gotcha” line and a swoopy music cue. But, sadly, there was so much more to go. Being a fan of the cheesy-bad fun of the original series, BF is disappointed too, but I think if he intends to watch it again in my presence I’ll be forced to put on noise- cancelling headphones and browse the Dope instead. I can NOT take another hour of THAT. ETA: along the line of MsWhatsit’s comment, I normally like Sci-fi type stuff so I had high hopes for V. Even if it was bad, I was hoping for it to be entertainingly bad. Alas, no. ---

So I it’s hard to build up a “hate” for any show. Except that, during last night’s _Lost_, the screen was festooned with a red “V” & a countdown to the return of that show. And there was a lot happening on _Lost_–involving subtitles, notes & alternate timelines. The whole series is wrapping up & lots of people are trying to make sense of it! I’d watched most of this _V_; I, too, don’t mind a bit of cheese. But that stupid promotion convinced me to switch the channel after _Lost_. (Besides, “Juliet” left _Lost_ for a role on _V_–leaving Sawyer with the atrocious Kate.) ---

CSI in any incarnation. Seriously is this show Law & Order for retards? The show seems to think that detectives, CSI investigators, chemists, physicists, and a wide variety of other professions are all the same profession. I don’t really like Law & Order or its spin offs, but I get it. It’s show that take’s “ripped from the headlines” stories and simplifies the justice system without the complexity of season long story arcs or deep character development. CSI is Law & Order after taking stupid pills. I cannot understand the Real Housewives of where ever shows. I mean the women on them don’t even seem to be particularly wealthy. Who wants to watch some aging upper middle class women go out to lunch? I was going to say “go out to lunch and manufacture minor pointless social drama,” but I’m not even sure these shows do that. I don’t really like Two and a Half Men but I’m going to put in a good word for it anyway. I’d much rather watch a show dependent on crude and cliched sex jokes than a show which completely revolves around a buffoon getting bitched out regularly by his wife, which seems to be the entire basis for 90 percent of what’s on TV. ---

Any talk show other than Ellen, which I only find amusing because I love Ellen. Any reality show. In the beginning I liked that home makeover show but then it tried to be some sort of awww tearjerker type show. I don’t do any amateur singing/dancing shows or shows where people do stupid/dangerous/icky stuff for prizes. I don’t like shows with a lot of violence, like those murder mystery shows, although I will sit through one if I’m drawn in. Mostly I like House, Lost and Thursdays on NBC. ---
