My sister and BIL’s neighbor has a very bad habit of mowing his back yard every time we have a bbq out on the back deck. Since S&BIL are on a corner and the back of their house faces the side of idiot neighbor’s house, it is very disrupting. Me, I would have marched over and said something to him long ago. S&BIL just silently bear it. ---

The asshole neighbors called the fucking cops on me when I protested their fucking leaf blowing insanity by dumping leaves on their front yard. So now I just make nasty remarks when I walk past them. If I had time I would contact local officials and lobby for it to be made a crime to use the fucking blower more than ten minutes at a time. ---

I think my across the street neighbors cut their whole lawn with a string trimmer. That high pitched whir, for an hour at a time…several times a week…is enough to drive anyone to murder. Only, he’s a really nice guy and that’s like the only noise we ever heard from them. So I try not to let it bug me. ---

The perimeter of the park is bordered on two sides by houses with fenced backyards. When they cleared the empty lot to make the park, they bulldozed everything and we were all so happy. Sady they don’t maintain the park within about 10 feet of the fence line. In many areas the brambles have grown back with a vengeance. Every so often, I get out there and hack away. Drill holes in the root balls and pour Roundup into them. I’m down from about 50 ft of brambles behind my house to about 10. It’s taking longer than we thought. ---

My rant: I’m a new home owner (yay!) well the damn locks in the doors are some odd shape and must have been installed pre-standardized lock sizes and they are 3 different brands (one each big name and one god knows what). (Boo) The locksmith is coming but damnit I just want the new locks in the doors before we move in! It’s a foreclosure, after the horror stories people kept telling me about I’m just happy they left even if I have a bunch of cleaning to do yet. We haven’t bought out the whole hardware store yet either, it only feels like we did… ---

The brambles grow maybe 5 ft out from the fence line. My guess is when they were mowing it all down, they just never bothered to get that close to the fence line. I never worried that much about them until they started to mess up the fence. ---

We are in an outer area of the city, but still in the city limits. So there was, at the time, still lots of open area. We are in a flood plain and the block was slated for houses, but there was a moratorium on home building and they did up the park instead. It’s actually really nice, like having a huge back yard with a library and everything. It’s just the damn blackberry brambles! ---

This morning I went into the bathroom and discovered that my dad had left the light on and had left a huge shit stain on the toilet seat. My dad had already left for work, so guess who had to clean the shit stain, and was almost late for school because of it? :mad: ---
