I have a hard time believing _in loco parentis_ extends to striking a child. In what way does that promote or safeguard the welfare of the child? ---

Those were only the states that allowed corporal punishment in their own schools. 48 states permit it in private schools. In answer to your question, not all states require parental permission. Next time, support your own assertions. Especially the ones you claim as fact. ---

Seriously, all it boils down to was that I thought it was inappropriate for people to tell her she was wrong t be mad about her boyfriend spanking her kid, or that she no legal right to deny permission for him to spank her kid. In all fairness, and speaking as a casual observer who isn’t privy to the many back stories that may be involved… It does appear that many posters lay in wait to ambush Dio (and Bricker for that matter).
