Richard Horne must be Audrey’s son. It’s pretty unlikely that he’s Johnny’s, and who else is there?

Albert’s got a girlfriend.

The Mitchums want to kill Dougie.
What’s up with Diane?
And the fat lady sings. (Was that really a reference to that colloquialism? If so, what’s ending?)

Diane knows or knows of Bill Hastings and his work. I don’t think that EvilCooper does. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have needed Ray’s help to get the coordinates from Betty. I think that Diane’s working with Phillip Jeffries, in opposition to EvilCoop.
It’s so good to see Albert enjoying the company of another human being.

The name of the episode is “Laura is the one”. When Albert knocked and Gordon opened the door he had a sudden vision of a sobbing Laura and could hear Sarah Palmer calling for her.
I assume that this means something or will at some point.
Or maybe I’m assuming too much.

A bit off-topic: does anybody have any firm info on when/if Audrey will be back? Sherilyn’s IMDb page ( [Sherilyn Fenn - IMDb](http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000145/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1#actress) ) doesn’t have her in the current season, but she was in the promos – prominently! – before things got underway.

My understanding is that she’s definitely in the cast. I think people have been hoping for her to be a major part of the story, so I hope she shows up.soon.

That was the most awkward sex scene I’ve ever seen, and yet somehow only the third most awkward Kyle Maclachlan sex scene I’ve ever seen. “Dougie” is the worst sounding name on the planet, and it is not improved when repeatedly screamed by Naomi Watts. Points for the floppy arms, though.
I’m going to have to sit on this one. It went way darker than I was expecting with the scene between Richard and Silvia, to the point of being difficult to watch. There was some reveals I liked (Mr. C supposedly being the mysterious billionaire) and some I didn’t (further insinuation that Diane is working for him), some unexplained oddities I liked (Cole’s doodle) and some I didn’t (the odd Laura, um, thing).
A little something no one seems to be talking about - Lucy and Andy talk about time being “off” a lot. Lucy mentioned stopped time this episode, Andy’s suspect was late for a meeting, both of them working out how long Cooper’s been gone in reference to their son’s birth, ect. Maybe it’s nothing, but I feel like the two of them struggling with keeping time might be relevant.
The casino/gangster/insurance plot was boring, and I’ve nothing to say on it.

Some nice observations “Small Hen”. Evil-Cooper in the glass box room is important. I thought from the beginning that he was connected in some way with that, either as the billionaire or working for or with him.
Along with Richard’s encounter with Silvia, his.apparent murder of rhe pie lady was intense, as was the scene where Shelley’s daughter was being abused by her husband. Both her and her mother have self-destructive taste in men.
Your observation regarding Lucy and Andy is interesting.

I suspect that Kyle Maclachlan’s hand flapping during sex was a parody of his infamously bad sex-in-the-fountain scene with Elizabeth Berkeley from “Showgirls” (also set in Vegas.) At least, I’m going with that.

This was the first Maclachlan sex scene I’ve ever seen so I wouldn’t know whether or not it’s a parody but the flapping hands were hilarious regardless, and they fit perfectly with the character he’s portraying.
I keep thinking that one of these emotionally intense moments will wake him up. Imagine if, in the middle of that scene, he started calling out the name “Annie!” or “Audrey!”, or had sat up, pushed her off, and said something like “I have to call Gordon!”

I’m not sure how or when it’s going to work, but I don’t think it will be either that simple or that straight forward. In a very literal sense, Dale Cooper is a broken person. Even in the Black Lodge/Purple World, he was not our Cooper - he had a flat, slow affect and little to say - a less extreme version of Dougie. The Doppelgänger has a part of him, and I don’t think we’ll get anything even close to our Cooper until he gets it back - and even then, he might also be getting twenty-five years of memories that could destroy him.
I’m preparing myself for a few downer endings to this show. One is that Cooper dies. The second is that Cooper lives and it’s even worse.
The third is that I don’t understand any of it and will have to rely on you guys and the rest of the internet to explain it to me. 🙂

First time we’ve seen any evidence of paranormal talents from Gordon, to my knowledge.
Holy crap Richard Horne is a prick. Choking his own mother. By elimination, he must be the son of Audrey. Guess we’ll see her soon. So why aren’t the cops after him after attacking granny? And what happened to Andy’s following up on the truck that ran over the boy?
Now Lucy- did she see Chad tuck the letter in his shirt? Will she have the Sheriff take a look at him before he destroys it?
Why didn’t Janey notice how buff Dougie Coop is before? She has helped him get dressed.
Diane. Working for evil Cooper? A double agent infiltrating evil Cooper’s domain?

I’m close to certain that Richard’s father is evil-Cooper. That would explain his behavior (at least in a Lynchian world).
Audrey was an infatuated adolescent and evil-Cooper would not have had the same qualms as the real Cooper.

I had the same thought.
In re the flapping-arms encounter between Cooper-as-Dougie and Dougie’s wife Janey-E: could be a reference to _Showgirls_ (as Don Draper suggested). But also–did Dale Cooper ever have actual sex, pre-Black Lodge? I know he had a “romantic relationship” with Windom Earle’s wife (before she was murdered by Earle)…but Cooper was such a straight-arrow that for all we know they never had intercourse. (Unless I’m mis-remembering what we were told about that.)
I’m just wondering if what we saw wasn’t just post-Lodge, part-of-his-mind-missing\* Cooper’s ongoing readjustment to living in the real world, but maybe, in addition to that, it was the first time he had sex. Which would certainly justify his visible delight.
Anyway:

[li]Yes, the scene of Richard assaulting and robbing his grandmother and (presumably) uncle was horribly painful to watch; Lynch was really testing us, there. It was just a hair shy of being Bad Filmmaking–and of course, that’s Lynch’s genius. He can pull off that sort of thing where others cannot.[/li]
[li]I was unclear on whether we were supposed to think Lucy suspected Chad of messing with the mail. Certainly she didn’t follow him (she could have seen him take out the letter, if she had).[/li]
[li]I was genuinely surprised by the evil-Cooper-in-the-glass-box room photo. I guess we all assume that the glass box set-up was intended to make sure real-Cooper didn’t return from the Black Lodge, so it shouldn’t have been a surprise! But it’s difficult to see how Lynch and Frost will explain that the one place real-Cooper was expected (by evil Cooper, apparently) to re-enter the real world was in New York City…???[/li]

I don’t think the location of the device mattered. It simply intercepted anything that tried to go from that universe to ours anywhere in the vicinity of Earth. At least that’s my guess.

That could be. There does seem to be some sort of fixed portal in the woods near TP, so there could be another in NYC.
Obviously it’s whatever Lynch wants it to be and you and I are just guessing.
