Never mind Hostess- will DRAKE’S products ever return?
Well, I just learned that a key provision of the Voter’s Rights Act was struck down allowing local officials to disenfranchise minority votes through political shenanigans which will now take years to undo rather than be prevented from happening in the first place. But, I guess this is more exciting.
Well, they won’t.
‘Round these parts, Little Debbie has expanded its line and raised its prices, probably to fill the shelf space and to pay for it, and Freshley’s has made a big push into the Chicago market, where it had been in low-discount stores only, and raised their prices accordingly. Then there’s that French-Canadian brand that showed up recently, and Bimbo’s equally-overpriced snacks. There’s already been a lot spent on that shelf space, and Hostess is coming back as the acknowledged premium brand. I assume the store chains’ accountants are rubbing their hands in glee.
"Twinkies are making an early comeback at Wal-Mart stores, and they won’t be frozen beforehand.
The world’s largest retailer says it is selling the snack cakes at about 1,600 stores starting Friday and that about 3,000 of its 4,000 U.S. stores should have them by Sunday morning, a day before Hostess had said the spongy yellow cakes would start hitting shelves nationwide."
Hasn’t anyone rushed over to buy them yet?
It’s T-Day!
The wife picked up a box Saturday morning at the grocery store. The box was gone by the afternoon. I’ve never felt so sick in my life.
It was worth it.
So they taste the same?
I didn’t notice any difference, but according to my wife I didn’t really take the time to taste them.
