I could have sworn I posted that in this thread, but I think it must have been an earlier thread on the same subject. But yes, I had that same problem. I can never tell those two apart and found The Departed equally confusing.
But I actually bumped this thread because lately I’ve noticed several young actors who to me look like younger versions of other actors. Most recently I was watching _Wednesday_ and couldn’t help but think [Jenna Ortega](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4911194/?ref_=tt_cl_t_1) as Wednesday Addams reminded me of a young [Aubrey Plaza](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm2201555/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_1_tt_4_nm_2_q_aubry%2520plaza). I think that’s partly because her delivery reminds me of Plaza’s character in _Parks and Recreation_, not just her physical appearance.
Also, [Yvonne Strahovski](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm2088803/?ref_=rg_mv_close) in _The Handmaid’s Tale_ totally reminds me of a younger [Portia de Rossi](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005577/?ref_=tt_cl_t_2), especially her character in _Better Off Ted_. Which kind of makes sense; when de Rossi was in Better Off Ted she was about the age Strahovski is now.

I guess I’ll add another one since this thread got bumped anyway.
There are two actors I used to constantly get confused. Steven McHattie and Lance Henriksen.

McHattie has been in a lot of things, one of his most famous roles may have been when he was Elaine’s psychiatrist on _Seinfeld_, the one who was able to use mind tricks to get her (or anyone else) to do what he wanted. But he has been on countless shows and many movies (including _Watchmen_ as the original Nite Owl). I mostly remember his as “the guy I keep confusing with Lance Henriksen”.
Henriksen is best known as Bishop (the android, oops spoilers!) from the _Alien_ films. He also played the main character in the TV show _Millenium_, which was sort of a spin-off of _The X-Files_ (made by the same people, had the same general theme, was also on Fox, and Henriksen’s character even had a cameo on one episode of _The X-Files_). He also played one of the police detectives trying to solve the murders of people named Sarah Connor in the original _Terminator_ film (Paul Winfield played his partner). He’s something of a sci-fi legend if you look at his resume.
Even now when I look at those photos of the actors I have to remind myself they aren’t just the same person making two different facial expressions.

I woke up a few nights ago in the middle of the night with the face of teenager clearly in my head, with almost no context. And I could not get back to sleep, because it was driving me nuts.
The best I could describe him was that he had scraggly facial hair, short, curly dirty blonde hair, and a vulpine facial structure, and he played a loveable sleaze.
Later, I thought of Neil Patrick Harris. I was pretty sure it wasn’t him, but now I was convinced it was his twin.
It just wasn’t enough. I was awake for a very long time.
Two days later, I finally thought to Google “Actor who looks like Neil Patrick Harris”.
First hit:

When I was watching BETTER CALL SAUL in 2020 I could sworn there was a character played by an elderly Wilford Brimley but it turned out it was an elderly Barry Corbin instead.

I think it’s more that Serpico’s first big acting roles started in 1997 at the age of 33 (_Donnie Brasco, Cop Land, Oz_). Anthony Michael Hall’s first big acting role was at the age of 13 on _National Lampoon’s Vacation_. I expect that Hall at 33 looked a lot like Serpico at 33. Hall at 13 didn’t look a lot like Serpico at 33, but I don’t have any clue what Serpico actually looked like at 13. Maybe he looked a lot like Hall at that age.

Not necessarily twins, but I always thought [Peter MacNichol](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_MacNicol) could easily be the son of [George Furth](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Furth).

I only recently discovered that the following were two different actors. To be fair, they both are bald, with strong-featured faces and deep voices, and both often play military or FBI leaders.
John M. Jackson played Admiral Chegwidden on _JAG_, a role he reprised as a guest star on _NCIS_; he also had a recurring role as FBI Deputy Director Cullen on _Bones_.

So I’ve finally gotten around to watching _Curb Your Enthusiasm_. And while watching the episode “AAMCO” I realized actor [Mike Hagerty](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0002235/?ref_=nm_mv_close) from circa 2000 looked an awful lot like John Candy, albeit perhaps slightly less heavy. I had to check IMDB to convince myself that he _wasn’t_ John Candy, as I couldn’t remember exactly when Candy died.

I had the same experience with Jim Caviezel and Adrien Brody in _The Thin Red Line._ Although in the years since they’ve grown apart in terms of looks.
