Two college class load ?'s

  1. Good answers above. At my institution it was three classes one semester, two classes the other.

  2. What a “full course load” is in a traditional academic graduate program (leading to a PhD, rather than say an MD or an MBA) is determined by your source of funding. If you have a fellowship that wants you to take nine hours a semester, you do it. If you are paying your own way, you decide yourself. Typically a grad student will take fewer hours than an undergraduate; I think I usually took 9-12 (including three that were a personal guided reading and didn’t take up classroom time) as a full-time grad student, and 15-18 as an undergrad.
