# Two Microsoft notes

At Angels baseball games, when the team makes a good play they play that Microsoft computer sound of “tada”. Does Microsoft hold the copyright on that sound?

If so, I assume the team has to pay royalties. How do they determine how much to pay?

Nope, there’s no copyright by MS on the “TaDa” sound. The only one that does is the one you hear when you goto the Help | About Microsoft \<productname\> menu. It’s called “The Microsoft Sound.wav”
