This is the basis for Buddy Ryan’s [goal line defense tactic](http://smartfootball.com/defense/buddy-ryans-polish-goalline-tactic#sthash.0yBWnFWW.dpbs) for the very end of games. If you’re defending with little time left in the game, you can repeatedly take penalties to waste the game clock, and eventually you only have to successfully defend a single play.
