Either of these two men is capable of murdering again. I wouldn’t want to stumble across them in the woods. They might not want any witnesses calling 911 when they get home. But for right now, it’s in their best interest to avoid any crimes and police attention. Hard to tell if they’ll remember that for very long. Violent men aren’t always rational. ---

I’m wondering. Let’s say that these guys got away and are several states away by now. Will the Feds ever admit it, or will we just stop hearing about it when the news reporters get bored and move on to something else? I’m reminded of the Olympic Park Bomber, Eric Rudolph. He supposedly fled into the woods. After a while, the cops began to pull some fairly ridiculous theories out of their asses. I specifically remember one claiming that Rudolph had probably committed suicide. (And he knew this, how exactly? :dubious: ) Sure enough, years later he was identified in another state and arrested. ---

Someone on CNN is suggesting that area cabin owners “go check them out” and look for anything out of place. 😕 That can’t be a good idea. Uh, no thanks! Here’s the keys. You go. Sounds like they might wrap this up pretty soon if this DNA thing is the real deal. ---

At one software company where I worked, I was one of the people on the emergency contact list for the alarm system. One night, I was woken up by the alarm company, calling to let me know that the alarm had been triggered. I drove to the office building where I met the local police officer. He told me to go in and check out everything. “Me?” I thought, “You’re the one with the gun.” (Fortunately, there was nothing. Probably triggered by the night cleaning crew.) ---

Looks like they’ve confirmed they are still in the area near the prison. What they found at the cabin leaves little doubt. Won’t be long and they’ll be in custody. There’s really no where to run with that many people searching. For awhile it appeared maybe they had arranged a Plan B ride out of that area. Since that didn’t happen. They are basically SOL. They’ll be in for quite a tough time when they get back. They had it made. Honor cell block, cooking their own food, working one of the best jobs in the prison, and getting the occasional BJ from a middle aged lady. Now they’ll spend the rest of their lives on the shittiest cell block, sharing time with the craziest prisoners, watched by the meanest guards. It’s their own damn fault. ---
