For the past few days, when typing here on SDMB, I notice there seems to be a lag when I am typing. I am five words ahead of what is showing up on my screen.
Also, when trying to scroll up and down, there is also a lag.
I am not blaming SDMB as I am sure the cause is either my computer or Firefox, but does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?

It’s definitely not the SDMB doing it. Have you rebooted your PC between the times you’ve seen the problem, or has the same browser session been open the whole time?

You could try clearing your browser’s cache and deleting all temporary internet files.

Here’s a tip for all problems with web browsers. These are something anyone can do, without asking for help. The basic troubleshooting steps are as follows:
[ol]
[li]Reload page[/li][li]Restart browser[/li][li]Restart Computer[/li][li]Reinstall Browser[/li][/ol]

Stop at the one that solves the problem. If none of them do, suspect malware, and ask for help.

Technically there are other steps you can perform before reinstalling the browser, but, if reinstalling is possible, its often easier. If reinstalling is not possible (e.g., you use the version of Internet Explorer that came installed on your computer), then go ahead and ask for help early.

I’ve had the same problem and in different computers.

After 2-Restart browser, I would (as Voltaire said) clear out cache/cookies/history/temp internet files.
