Tyrannosaurus rex: everyone's favorite dinosaur, right?

Count me amoung the stegosaurus fans. I don’t know why, I just like him.

But I’m also partial to the diplodocus. Dippy kicks ass.
The Land Before Time!!! I loved that movie! (Although my favorite character was Ducky. Yep Yep Yep!!!)

I have a theory too, but it involves phalluses.

Diplodocus seconded.

I’m suprized that Ann Elk hasn’t joined this thread with her theory about the Brontosaurus.

Always been a quadruped dinosaur fan. I think Stegosaurus is my favorite, though Triceratops would be a close second. Brontosaurus (we will accept no other name) was Huge, easily qualifying for the top five. Ankylosaurus was interesting, but lacking horns or fins so it remains in the lower reaches of the top ten.

T-Rex? No way! The blood-thirsty killer part was pretty good, but they always fell over when you played with them. Prone dino=dead dino, end of play. Allosaurus is latin for big oumpkin-head. All the smaller bipeds (I don’t think my playset had raptors) were easily crushed by the mighty Bronto.

Thinking that we all like T-Rex because it gets the most publicity is like thinking that people find Angelina Jolie’s misshapen lips attractive just because they are prominently featured in every photo

*Maiasaura *for me.

Hey guys, c’mon. No matter your favorite, can’t we all see the dinosaurs are just trying to be friendly and give a friendly hello:

Plus, you forget that T-Rex had those wimpy little arms.

I don’t think blondebear thought this through.

The arms were comparatively small, but hardly wimpy:

Triceratops?? Those horns might have been impressive to other Trikes during rutting season or whatnot, but I have no doubt that a T-Rex would have laughed at them. And who cares about arms when you’ve got 4-foot long bone-crushing jaws and 12-inch long flesh-shredding teeth?

The OP is right. The T-Rex is by far the best, most bad-ass, most awesome dinosaur ever.

Incontrovertible proof of bad-assness. (apologies if someone has already posted this)

Awesomesauce!

No image posted, but referenced. Apology accepted

If the pterodactyl isn’t a dinosaur, is the tuatara?

Nope.

I can’t believe I missed this topic. Check out my dinosaur art section at ChrisSrnka.com and note the overwhelming number of T.rex images and you’ll get my perspective, though I do have other dinos in there as well.

People are being contrarian. There can only be one…T Rex is the boss. The others are food.

I have seen Sue, but I like the stegosaurus and brachiosaurus better.

For two years, I had one little boy in my Sunday School class who had to have a dinosaur drawn on the back of his coloring page, every single week. It was nearly always a Tyrannosaurus Rex (and it had to be in RED), but every once in a while he would ask for a Stegosaurus. Every week I drew him the dinosaur, and I was quite surprised when his mom told me that he had saved every one, so they had a huge stack of red dinosaur drawings.

Except for Spinosaurus and Giganotosaurus. And Sarcosuchus.

Eh. Spinosaurus was apparently a fish-eater and lacks the bone-crushing bite – Tyrannosaurus Rex had the greatest bite force of any land animal. And Giganotosaurus had a brain only about half as big as those of tyrannosaurids. And Sarcosuchus is a crocodile – any Australian can wrestle him into submission.

Spinosaurus might have been a fish eater. Either way, it’s not like a T-Rex was going anywhere near any one of them, if it knew what was good for it.
