We haven’t recovered from Obama’s lackadaisical attitude toward the Russians. More like absolute hero worship and enabling. He certainly has done nothing to fix the “damage” Obama supposedly did. Note: the actual source of the linked article is The National Review. At the time he said it, Russia wasn’t quite recognized as the foe it ultimately became. There were still efforts to remain diplomatic in 2012; it wasn’t until later that the relationship deteriorated - most notably after the Magnitsky Act, which Obama signed into law, in late 2012, after the election. That was the breaking point from Putin’s point of view. ---

Obama made a mistake. Big Fucking Deal. Trump asked for Russia’s help in his 2016 campaign. He defends everything Russia has done . He bends over backwards forward praising Putin (and dictators in general). He’s dismissed the news that the US was hacked. ---
