I feel like they’re just really good at holding their formation and always being in the right spot. Somehow that’s catching teams off guard. For some reason, no one expects the Spanish in position. ---

Well, that was a beautiful game with a nice final score. Lamine, you were magnificent. The team was very mature. I am going to watch the game tomorrow very relaxed. France was better than I thought, but not good enough. Perfect. ---

Later in the game, they said that they reversed the own goal designation and gave Spain the credit for the goal. If France hadn’t touched the ball, it would have gone in on it’s own. ---

Landon Donovan, who I generally can’t stand as an announcer, does make the point that that would easily be called a foul in the middle of the pitch, and I have to agree with that. ---

Didn’t look like a great penalty to me. Contact was made on the follow through. The standard for calling a penalty in the box isn’t always the same as elsewhere in the field. ---
