I must confess I’m rooting for England in this final (I feel dirty), for 2 reasons: 1. I know how it feels for a football-obsessed nation to go many years without winning anything, I think it’s time the gods of football take mercy on them. 2. In the unlikely case that Argentina wins today I’d prefer to face England because Messi has never played even a friendly against them, it would be epic. ---

Are you serious? There have been several attempts to make it work, the most recent was in 2022, the finalissima! It was played in Wembley, Argentina 3 - Italy 0.
