What the hell was the goalie doing? It was utter madness. Ho CHOSE to push it into the middle of his own congested six yard box. Both favourites benefiting from own goals in their opening games. 😖 ---

The second Portugese goal would not have fallen had the referee seen the foul against the Cech player just 20 seconds before at the other end of the pitch, but that is football. VAR is not used for that, damned! ---

It’s pretty obvious Canada is going to win the Copa America. Well, it could happen. Statistically. England might win the Euro too. Statistical favourites. However the stats seem to fail to take into account how they tend to collapse. I’m gonna go with France. Unless they are like PSG, a rare example of how, with talent, one and one and one sometimes only adds to two. ---

Everyone seems to be showing it that way (including the table they showed on Fox Sports during the Croatia Albania game) E.g. Better from Scotland, although that’s not a high bar. Aside from the tiny detail of gifting the Swiss a goal, we actually looked like a side that belonged in the tournament. A bit unlucky not to get another, a bit lucky not to concede another. A win against Hungary and we might scrape through as third place finishers. ---

They look so much better, especially in breaking down that low block…Hungary was compact, and yet Musiala and Wirtz kept finding lanes through the middle, instead of endless wing play. So fun to watch. ---

Really? I thought Italy looked kind of terrible in possession, due to the pressure. And no real threats, by the end of the game the xG was 0.2.
