Yeah, there’s got to be something creative that can be done with the “Thriller” zombie dance that would get right up in the Phelpses faces without being something that could prompt a serious lawsuit.
This is what happened at my girls’ school. They’re in the lower grades, but the high school put on Laramie Project, the play based on the Matthew Shepherd killing. The media person (it’s a private school; there is one person in charge of alumni and other publications, and she handles media relations as well) advised the policy of ignoring the whole thing, and that seemed to work fine. I don’t think there were any actual protesters.
