Definitely the Pontiac Aztek. That thing has been out for at least a few years and I still can’t ‘warm up’ to it’s horrid design. I think I’ve seen ONE on the road in the past year. Certainly not a popular vehicle.

My brother works with a number of folks in the auto industry in Detroit and said that shortly after the Aztek came out a new standard term of ugliness was defined – Aztek-Ugly. I thought it absolutely perfect and appropriate. I know it is unfair but man, when I see one rolling down the road I have to wonder about the owners…why, to what asthetic did this specifically appeal? hmmmmm

Rumor has it that the bigwigs at GM sent work down the pipeline that anyone who said anything bad about the way the Aztek looked would soon find themselves unemployed. For awhile, Pontiac had their own magazine, and they were heavily pimping the Aztek in it. The articles were hysterical to read, since you could tell that the authors were doing everything in their power to avoid blurting out, “This is the ugliest damned car we’ve ever made!” 😃
