Ultimate breakup CD - Need answers fast!

I don’t think anyone has mentioned “2,000 Miles” by Erasure. As in “I need to be at least 2,000 miles away from you.”

Also, “American Woman” by the Guess Who.

And “Unbelievable” by EMF.

Has anyone said, “50 Ways to Love your Leaver”? Err…you know what I mean.

My sister and I did this one time. That is, we were inundated by “mix tapes” from boys who had such depths of emotion that it could only be expressed by Brian Adams. So in private retaliation we put together every song we could think of to tell someone to get lost. We never delivered it to anyone but we had fun snickering over it on our own.

No one came up with “Paradise By the Dashboard Lights”? I don’t see it here anyway. Praying for the end of time and all…

Uh sorry. I thought of another of our faves from the time:

“Brand New Lover” by Dead or Alive.

“What I really need to do,
is find myself a brand new lover…”

The Offspring - Why Don’t You Get A Job?

I’m wondering, am I the only Doper who parted on (mostly) good terms from their ex? Because this thread is full of bitter, angry, fuck-off-and-die songs. Yes, I’ve felt that way, but not to the point of making a mix tape full of these songs.

That said, one of my current favorites is Pink’s “So What.”

Then again, for all I know, I’m deluding myself, and my ex is off somewhere listening to Dylan’s “Idiot Wind.”

It’s probably really sad that the first song I thought of was “Bye Bye Bye” by *NSYNC. If she’s anything like the girls that used to follow me around in high school, she won’t even get it - she’d just be going gaga.

Three Libras by A Perfect Circle.

Most relationships end badly. Otherwise they wouldn’t end.

Word.

I hear that. Maybe I am being overly optimistic in not hating my ex and wishing he’d just drop dead. It could be because we have a child together and I don’t want them to end up resenting/hating each other.
To keep this sort of on topic, I would like to add a couple of break-up songs by Depeche Mode: “Precious” for the kid, and “Leave in Silence” for her dad.

“Terrible Lie” by Nine Inch Nails.
