I apologize for my first comment, kind of rude and inappropriate, but with that being said I was not talking about pararescue. Even though the are some bad asses, if you wanna see them in action watch “Inside Combat Rescue” National Geo. I was talking about the other specops in the AF, called TACP or combat controllers. They are our frontline guys and are highly trained and get teamed up with rangers, marines, seals and every other special tactics teams. They should and could show their strength on this show.
IME, they object to the phrase “ex-Marine,” but not “former Marine.” And I know several.

Spetsnaz? Well, I met one in the lobby of the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. Full dress uniform------he was impressive looking. Equivalent to a Major and half a head taller than me (I am 6’ 1", uh don’t know that in cm, sorry Trish) and hard as a rock. Good handshake and almost flawless english. Asked to see my coin-he was aware of our tradition–I gave it to him and he took off his Master Parachutist badge and handed it to me. We laughed that guarded laugh–you know the one. The eyes never lie…I would like him on my entry team. First man through the door, me 2d with the shotgun. He might come in handy during a quick transition.
