The Amish make great baked goods and their furniture is supposed to be pretty good quality, for those who like that Shaker style. They also run most of the puppy mills in the USA and treat their beasts of burden fairly wretchedly, so fuck’em. ---

I drive by their compound nearly every day. It’s on the way to my job, and to the dog park. I used to hold picket signs against them, in the early 90’s. The “chw” in my email address stands for “crop headed whore” which is what the WBC folks used to shout at us women who cut their hair. One time we laughed at that, and they called the police to report us for disturbing the peace. ---

Although I hesitate to tar Hasidim with that broad brush. Except that the OP also complains about their employment and military service in Israel, so all you’ve done is divorce the title of the thread from its content. It is not the **title** that’s antisemitic, Miller. You’re just slapping a coat of paint across a bunch of rotting wood. I mean, fuck, a lot of the Hasidim really are enormously bigoted, anti-science assholes. There are so many valid ways to complain about them that it takes a really concerted, artistic effort to still make it pointedly racist. ---
