Ultraman/Johnny Sokko question...

Can anyone tell me if Johnny Sokko and/or Ultraman is in the Public Domain? The reason I ask is I am interested in buying DVD’s on eBay and while there are plenty available at really great prices, the sellers all make a point of announcing(supposedly for the benefit of the eBay staff) that “this material is in the public domain, and therefore is not in violation of copyright law.”

I dunno, sounds like they doth protest too much, maybe? :confused:

Anyways, does anyone know for a fact or can show a cite where either of these two are in public domain??

Where they Sandy Frank ‘productions’? 'Cause I know he’s still holds the rights to all the movies he translated.

It doesn’t say on any of them.

I don’t want to get ripped off with a crappy quality dvd.

Any other opinions?
