Um... I think I'm getting a new bike.

Coldie: I’ve always liked the FJs. I used to think about getting an FJ-1200. Even all these years on, they still look great.

Just read up a bit on the FJR: the block is essentially that of an R1, only bored out an extra 300 cc’s.

Just don’t put the battleaxe’s on the R1  Everyone seems to be going with Metzler’s now, but I stick with my trusty Michelin Pilot Sports on my R6. We did some spirited riding (ie, kneedragging) in the mountains last weekend, and all their tires were getting greasy and slipping while mine were rock solid.

Anyhoo, I think you made a great choice. I seriously debated the red R1 when I got my 6, but a) I don’t need a litre, and b) that white piece in front was a bit too big for my taste. It distracted me for some reason. I ride with 3 guys who each have one of the color choices of the '02 R1’s. The guy with the red one has a nice exhaust, 2 small black pipes instead of one. And it sounds closer to a twin than a 4 when he gets on the gas. Wish I could remember who made it.

Coldfire: They had an FJR at L.A. Yamaha, but it’s not something they carry. “Joe” said they order them from the factory when a customer wants one.

Modian: Dunlops are standard, so I’ll run those out first. I had a set of Metzlers on the Seca II, and as I recall I liked them better than the Bridgestones.

Johnny, Are you sure they had an FJR for sale or was it just there to get picked up? I thought that for right now you had to put a deposit down, then wait until they made some more then pick it up. If there’s a place in LA that has one I know a few people who would jump at the chance to pick it up.

I think that you should just go get your R1 and be done with it. Stop toturing yourself and get it, you know you want to.

Edward The Head: That’s what I meant. They had one in back that a guy bought, but

Oh, I’m getting it! I put a deposit down on Saturday and they ran a credit check. Now I just have to wait for the thing to get down here from Petaluma. It was supposed to be here yesterday, but it wasn’t. Maybe today.

Joe said the bike should be here Tuesday. I called Tuesday and Wednesday, but it still hasn’t shown up. Maybe today?
