I don’t think there’s any solid public evidence that **umkay** and **notokay** are the same person, although that’s presumably nearly everybody’s assumption. ---

My quick take: Isn’t it generally true that people with severe disabilities would probably want to avoid a lot of extra attention towards their disability? That they would prefer to just become “one of the gang” and put the focus on their thoughts on this topic or that, without instituting a multi-page pity party all about them? How do Dopers with such disabilities feel on this issue? ---

Actually, if she has any sense, that’s where umkay will go next. I don’t start every post with something about the crutches or chair. I post a lot about food, books, being into historical recreation. Maybe a fair amount about movies and tv. ---
