Today has been nothing but weirdness all day and I hadn’t thought about posting it here until I heard myself ask the question, “Plant matter shouldn’t taste like blood, right?” Then I knew I had to take this to the dope. The day started abnormally. This morning I got up, got dressed and ready for work, and headed down to the subway station. I got to the platform and saw a sea of people waiting for the train. There were at least 3 times the amount of people that normally wait for the train in the morning all crammed in there hoping the next train would be along any minute. Well, there was no train, only the fire department coming down to look at something and telling us that the power had stopped at my station, meaning that there were no trains coming any time soon. I ran upstairs and grabbed a cab and rode to work, getting there in plenty of time. Not a horrible thing to have happen, but weird none the less. I was ready to move on with a normal day so I unpacked the grapes I brought for breakfast and sat at my desk munching mindlessly while I waited for the day to start. _munch_ Mmm, grapey. _munch_ Yep, still tastes like grapes. _munch, spit_ What the hell? Why did that grape taste like blood? _cautious munch_ Great, two blood flavored grapes. This is disconcerting, to say the least. Since when do grapes have that heavy copper flavor to them? I have been eyeing the bag of grapes suspiciously since this morning, wanting to try again but not wanting to deal with the weirdness. I think I may have purchased grapes that were a bit further along the evolutionary scale than I had anticipated.:eek: ---

I think it’s been superceded by more modern things but there is an antifungal spray for grapes that’s copper-based - did you wash the grapes before eating? ---

I once ate blood orange ice cream that looked and tasted like mensturation. Well, I didn’t eat the ice cream…no one did. We all agreed it was gross, and put it in a urinal somewhere. ---

I didn’t bite my tongue and I did wash the grapes off first, though I feel a bit better knowing there might have been a reason for the coppery taste. I did throw out the rest of the grapes. Fruit should not taste like cannibalism.
