An interesting article about how bats make themselves deaf to detect bugs within a millimetre and why much of humanity lives without night and with perpetual ambient sound. I learned lots of new things.

He brings up a good point. We need to quit lighting up the world around us at night so more species can survive and so we can appreciate the dark ourselves. When was the last time you spotted the Milky Way galaxy in the skies, instead of in a photo?
