# Un-reformating a hard drive

I’ve successfully used [GetDataBack](http://www.runtime.org) in the past. You could atleast use it, or any other data recovery software, to see if some data is recoverable. Most demo versions allow you to see the data that can be recovered, but recovering it might require the full version.

have you thought of trying UNFORMAT?

Or other unformat software from [download.com](http://download.com) (shareware) or
