Well maybe **SFG** could have been nicer, but my mind is boggled that anyone is claiming that **Una** ’s question wasn’t stupid to the point of being a satire of itself. _Gee whillikers, people are saying zany things. Does that mean they are being zany? On the Internet!? Wait, no one’s ever been pointlessly irreverent on the internet before, so it must be a “facebook thing!” Wait! Let me share with you how backwards/superior I am, by noting that I don’t have a facebook page, and I don’t know anyone who has one, in fact, I’ve never even heard of facebook! You kids with your faceyspaces!_ Because lord knows, there has never been an internet meme, ever in her lifetime, and it is flat-out impossible to tell if the phrase “Cooks Source invented waterproof tea bags” is an attempt at humor unless you have knowledge of facebook. Apologists, come on. It was a STUPID question that was perfectly mockworthy. ---

Hmpf. **Una** ’s biggest problem is that she doesn’t post enough. I neglected to attach the Appropriate Taoism Chapter in the last advice I posted, but I’ll toss it in this time. I’ve learnt three things from this brouhaha, so it’s been a good day already. 1. SFG is female 2. SFG apparently has lots of friends/supporters on the boards 3. SFG has also an apparently long-established reputation for being edgy/snarky/“saying what she thinks.” All three of those things are news to me. Still, there you go… An educational day on the boards. ---

As for the topic of this thread–do you really not get that all of us in this place are still people, who will still get their feelings hurt, and that we might not leave it in the Pit? There are still repercussions for what you say in the Pit. You have a reputation for being overly blunt, but Una’s not going to know that since she doesn’t post here, anymore than she knows I’m not a troll because my opinions have changed over time. Lately, you’ve been getting a lot of posts asking you to tone it down here. That’s not a good sign. As I pointed out in another thread, you can still be banned for trolling here in the Pit. Which puts to a lie your idea that this is the place where you are supposed to treat people poorly. That’s just a side effect of it’s real purpose–to let posters let off steam. Una had no reason not to call your question stupid outside the Pit. There is nothing that says you can’t do that. In fact, as long as she doesn’t follow you around, she can respond every time she sees a post of yours in a way that is specifically designed to annoy you. In fact, if I were her, I’d get a lot of satisfaction out of the fact that you got so upset you started another Pit thread. She’s only doing to you what you did to **rachellelogram** and others. ---
